1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Cheap
I was very disappointed with this product. This knife should only retail for about 12 bucks. The sheath is cheap and the handle is to short.

Great for EDC
This is a great little knife from Ka-Bar, it's fantastic for EDC use and can be customized with the edition of some paracord to the handle for additional grip. It's very thin and concealable. The sheathe is good, a little stiff to begin with but it can be outfitted with a Tek-Lok, TDI clip or paracord, whatever you like to use to carry it as either a belt or neck knife. Personally I horizontally carry at the back using paracord loops. This also allows me to mount this to a shoulder strap of a ruck if I require. The blade itself came sharp, it's easy to sharpen with a standard fine or medium sharpener, it also has a nice finish like a standard Ka-Bar, the blade length is perfect for normal tasks with good jimping on the rear for grip. Overall it is very lightweight, sharp, strong blade with good sheath retention and a myriad of carry options. This is a knife that is well suited for EDC and in a pinch will suffice as a back up weapon if needed.

Out of site out of mind
Very happy with Kabar neck knife. I don't use it as a neck knife but I do use it for its low profile. Fits tight against my body or my gear and doesn't profile or get caught on anything. I added a paracord wrap to the handle which makes it easy for me to use as I have large hands. Same quality as all my full size and mini kabars. Blades come with a decent edge but with a short time amount of effort they have a great edge.
