Pros: Blade Material, Weight, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Material, Sheath/Scabbard, None
Great knife, sheath is just OK
TL:DR Sheath is frail, not belt worthy. Rear beak on grip is uncomfortable, handle full of bubbles & voids. After mods knife performed very well.I've had this knife for years. During that time it's been on numerous camping trips and army field problems. I have two complaints against this knife. The first is the sheath. The leather retention straps cracked early on, as did the plastic loop at the bottom of the sheath and the leather back of the nylon covered sheath. Over time all leather parts were reinforced or replaced with duct tape. Second is the handle. I found the sharp beak at the end of the grip uncomfortable in all grip positions but most especially in the forward grip blade up, spine to ground position. I eventually carved and sanded the beak off revealing many small bubbles and voids in the grip. After reinforcing the sheath removing the beak, and filing visible voids in the handle, the knife worked exactly as one would expect a large heavy Bowie knife to perform: awesome at heavy slashing, chopping, batonning; not so good for fine detail work.
