Model: KA1483: TDI Law Enforcement Combat Knife w/ Black Serrated Blade
The TDI Law Enforcement Knife was designed by an officer with officers in mind.

Benner has trained thousands of law enforcement personnel since founding TDI in 1986. Prior to that time he served as Lieutenant of the Village of Fairfax Police Department, Coordinator of the Drug Abuse Reduction Task Force, and Tactical Field Commander of the Hamilton County Police Association Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.). John has developed courses for raid tactics, tactical weapons instructor schools, defensive tactics and knife programs that are currently taught to law enforcement, military and civilian groups.
The TDI Law Enforcement Knife was designed to be used as a "last option" knife. In extreme close quarters encounters where a suspect is attempting to take an officer's handgun, or the officer cannot access his/her handgun, the TDI Knife is available. Designed as an "off hand" knife that draws like a pistol, the reversible sheath can be worn on either the right or left side of the officer's pant belt.

Fast Shipping
I purchased this knife as a gift for a friend. I placed my order on 9-5-13 and received the next day Friday 9-6-13. Excellent customer service and super fast shipping. I've used The Knife Center in the past and hope to continue doing business with them in the future. I opened the box and everything appears to be as advertised. Black and Gold cardboard box in black letters KBD under that in gold Master Series. Weight of package is substantial meaning not a kids toy. I apologize to anyone wanting to know more about the knife but it's a gift. I wanted to thank The Knife Center for sending it so quickly and free.

A Monster!
This knife is very well designed and made for doing maximum damage at close range. Held in a reverse grip a hook to someone’s jaw would impact along the throat. A jab to the body would go into the abdomen, while a strike to the lower body could rip into the groin. It does not take much training/practice with this knife to be able to do some serious injury to someone looking to hurt/kill you. Held in a forward grip you can make more precise strikes. The tip of the handle protrudes a little unless you have massive hands and could also be used as a striking point if needed. The knife came razor sharp out of the box. The blade is 1/8 of an inch thick and tapers down to a 1/16 of an inch at the front and is very solid. Sheath is of good quality and locks the knife in with a nice “click” but does not require much of a pull to remove the knife when needed. The sheath came with two straps attached to the back so there are a number of carry options. While this is a fairly large knife (7 and 1/4 inch), when carried in the handle forward position along the back on a belt it contours nicely with my body and is not very visible under a shirt. A potential issue with this knife is that for whatever reason my hand tends to bunch up at the bend in the handle, especially when in the reverse grip. While my hand has never spilled out onto the blade when drawing or using the knife it often feels like it might. Could just be me and a need for more practice using the knife in reverse grip. Another issue to some might be that of comfort. To me this knife is not very comfortable to hold no matter what the grip. I personally like this discomfort as it serves as a mental reinforcement that if this knife is pulled bad things are going to happen. However, for some people I could see how an uncomfortable feeling knife would be a negative. The price point is also fairly high. You could easily buy two good carry knives for the price of this one. I titled this review “a monster” because that is what this knife is. You keep this knife hidden away until it has to be unleashed and then “watch out” because terrible things are going to happen. This knife scares me because of how it flaunts its potential lethality, but that is also why I bought it. If you are looking for a solid, no nonsense, in-close edged weapon for defense this one will be hard to beat. Thanks Knife Center!
