KA-BAR Knives

The Original TDI Knife was designed by John Benner, founder of Tactical Defense Institute. A former Police Lieutenant, Drug Task Force Coordinator, and SWAT Team Tactical Field Commander, Benner has more than 30 years' experience in the law enforcement field. He has developed courses for raid tactics, defensive tactics and knife programs that are currently taught to law enforcement, military and civilian groups.

Newly introduced are the single hand opening, non-automatic, ambidextrous, TDI Folding Knives. These low profile knives are easily concealed, lightweight and there to meet your specific law enforcement needs. Each folder comes with a reversible pocket clip so it is always where you need it to be.

Teriffic Knife!
Great knife! Easy one-finger opening. Positive locking mechanism. Easy to clean. I had to adjust the pocket clip angle and tip but that was easily accomplished with a grinder.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, Overall Quality
Not so safe
This is a heavy folding fighting knife, and does a reasonable job as a weapon since the angle of the blade makes stabbing and slashing easier on the wrists. The blade is heavy and hollow-ground, giving it a fair degree of durability and cutting power. The liner lock is a bit of a PROBLEM. Pressure on the blade against the lock (in the direction of closing the knife) causes the liner to flex like a spring, and slip a bit from where it contacts the blade. Further pressure causes the LOCK TO FAIL, and could cause the blade to come down hard on the user's fingers. In a combat situation I'd prefer a stronger, safer lock. You get what you pay for. I suggest you pay a little more for a better made knife.

Great knife review by Urban Farmer
Solidly built. Opens easily with only a partial swing to lock. Ergonomics in hand is excellent. Yes, you can bend the lock mechanism, but I don't think it would ever fail. Pocket clip looks a little small. Very tough to close with one hand. John Benner is a great instructor, another winner.
