Work Mule
First off, this is a budget knife. You get what you paid for. Initially, I thought this knife would perform similar to the Desert Mule folder, also manufactured by Ka-Bar. I was sadly mistaken. The Chinese steel is definately less formidable compared to the AUS-8 in the desert variant. It is a soft steel and its edge warps easily, but this also makes the blade alot easier to sharpen and it take a fine edge quickly. Just a quick touch up every other night and its good to go. Another issue I have about the knife are the pocket clip and the thumbstuds. I literally dropped this knife only 5 or 6 times since I bought it. The 2nd drop popped my pocket clip straight off. The threads on the screws were stripped and I couldn't place them back. The 3rd drop popped the thumbstuds off. I'm guessing they were stamped on by a machine because I had no luck placing back together again. Besides those little mishaps, the knife performs nicely. The G10 handles are a nice substitute to Zytel. The traction is not too shabby, but could have been improved. The size and weight may take a bit of getting used to, but I find that it generates better momentum when passing through thicker materials, like tri-wall cardboard or layers of duct tape. The lockback mechanism is nice and sturdy and hasn't failed on me yet. The blade geometry is actually very functional by giving effectively two puncturing/piercing points and the inclusion of serrations. Overall, this is a heavy-duty work knife, like its advertised. For the price point, it is a great deal!

GREAT KNIFE!!
The blade is 4 inches long, Beautiful knife. I have seen the other Mule, and it was too big for what I needed as an EDC. Bought this one, real thin real sharp. Great knife.
