KA5600: The Adventure Potbelly
KA-BAR Knives

The Potbelly -- the workhorse Adventure blade -- borrows its strength from legendary big blades like the kukri and the machete for amazing chopping power. This is a perfectly turned knife, with weight-forward balance for heavy cutting and multi-position handle that allows for delicate work. The handle is texture with our proprietary Adventuregrip so you're always in control, even when things get messy. The blade is precision crafted from 0.25" 1095 cro-van steel, hollow ground to a razor's edge and powder coasted for corrosion resistance.

The Potbelly sheath includes a uniquely-designed stuff sack for necessities like matches, fishing tackle, a compass or other survival items. With the included 8 feet of our Adventurecord, this knife can even be lashed to a stick and used as a spear if the situation demands. If you can have only one knife in your pack, choose the Potbelly.

The Piggyback -- the smallest Adventure blade -- cuts like a knife twice its size. It takes no more room than a medium-sized folding knife, and its deep belly shape and short clip point are designed for "unzipping" game. Grip points on the spine allow for even the most delicate work and the knife's simple design makes cleanup a snap.

The Piggyback comes standard with the Potbelly and the Baconmaker.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Finish, Handle Material, Weight, Blade Sharpness, Overall Quality, None
Cons: Blade Material
nice balance
Weight and feel are great, and the finish is excellent, The first time I used it was on 3/4 inch soft spruce branches. A semi-circular piece, 1/2 inch in diameter broke off the belly of the blade. Sent it back, and replacement is just fine.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Cons: Weight
Balance is not so good for me.

I bought a used as a camping knife, the reason is because I like to buy this knife beautiful. But not just start when you open the box to find the overall weight of heavy salty point out that the handle grip in the hands of the emphasis, which makes the hack look forward to being able to cut a lot. Sheath knife as well as other parts are pretty good.
