KA5601: The Adventure Baconmaker
KA-BAR Knives

The Baconmaker -- the more aggressive Adventure blade -- is the ideal knife for hog hunting. Crafted from 1095 cro-van, this beast is built to withstand any abuse and never fail. The hollow ground blade maintains razor sharpness while the knife's overall geometry provides optimum thrusting power, perfect for sticking hogs. The glass-filled nylon handle gives you unmatched control, thanks to an ergonomic multi-position handle that's been finished with our proprietary Adventuregrip texture.

The sheath is specially designed to offer multiple carry options, including MOLLE< and its roomy stuff sack is perfect for hunting necessities like rubber gloves, sharpening utensils, Adventurecord or anything else you need to Own the adventure!

The Piggyback -- the smallest Adventure blade -- cuts like a knife twice its size. It takes no more room than a medium-sized folding knife, and its deep belly shape and short clip point are designed for "unzipping" game. Grip points on the spine allow for even the most delicate work and the knife's simple design makes cleanup a snap.

The Piggyback comes standard with the Potbelly and the Baconmaker.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Very good, very weel made knife.
Right out of the box, it's very sharp, especially the tip. A beautiful design overall, and the handle feels really comfortable to me. Although it's not meant for it, I have used it for throwing in the woods for fun and a slight amount of chopping and it held up well. The only challenge with it is sharpening the knife, with its odd shape, but this is to be expected with the non-conventional blade shape. And the small little knife that comes with it is cheap, but works well. Definitely a keeper that can be used for lots of utility. I would like for a sheath to be available that fit just the Baconmaker itself, because the sheath it comes with, although nice, is a bit big to carry around.
