D2! Dogs! Copper!
I purchased this as well as a similar Case lockback as a move away from the big Benchmade/ZT/Spyderco "tactical" folders I usually carry. As an introduction to traditional (-ish) knives, I love it. I worried that the lock mechanism might protrude so far that it would be easy to unlock accidentally, but that's not the case. I do think the large protrusion at the lock is silly (it's not visible in the photo, but look at the video), and I don't see its function. I'd rather it had a more conventional lock, but the other distinctive features--D2 steel and the copper dog's head and bolsters--are more than enough to make this really appealing to me. The knife is very solid, no blade play, and the back spring is very strong. Not the sharpest out of the box, but certainly sharp enough. The fit and finish is great, and I look forward to seeing what the copper looks like as it ages. I'll carry this and use it for the usual edc stuff--opening packages and the like.
