Really good small hunting knife - also for edc
I really like this one. As a hunting knife it is close to perfect, not to say perfect.Shaving sharp out of the box, swedish steel, sandvik 14C28N which really can take an edge. Full tang, strong design and and very comfortable and safe handle. Actually the most comfortable handle of all the small knifes I own. The blade is almost full hollow grind with a thin edge making for a really nice slicer suitable for the most of everyday cutting chores. It can also be sharpened many times with no need for regrinding. The hollow grind is, however, not a very strong grind and therefore the knife is not suitable for twisting or bending but as long as you are not using it as a pry bar you should be home safe. It is a really small knife,15.2 cm and suitable for edc. The blade length is 6cm but the effective cutting edge is actually more than 1 cm longer than that, almost the same effective cutting edge as the Cold Steel Mini Hunter and the Fallkniven WM1. The leather sheath is high quality but I would prefer a more low profile kydex sheath. The knife with sheath is ,however, small enough to be carried in a pocket, the only bulky part being the belt loop. Weighing in at a little more than a 100 grams it is not the lightest small knife out there nor the heaviest.I can highly recommend the Kershaw Skinning Knife as a hunting knife or to be used for edc.
