Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Perfect small game knife
This may be the perfect blade geometry for field dressing small-to-medium game. So light you forget you're carrying it. Well executed, looks like it will hold up well in tough conditions. Sheath was rather stiff at first, but softened with a little neatsfoot oil.

Great knife. Needs a better sheath. Perfect size for skinning.

Shaving sharp, right out of the box
I can't say enough good things about this knife! Granted, I've only had it for about 3 weeks but it's already earned itself a place in my gear bag. First impressions, are of quality and durability. The blade is shaving sharp right out of the box. I haven't sharpened the blade yet because I haven't needed to. The Sandvik 14C28N steel is the same material used in the Skyline which I also own and it was shaving sharp out of the box as well. The first night I had the Kershaw Field Knife, I used it to field dress a Deer. I cleaned the knife and it was still shaving sharp. I'm not sure how easy sharpening this blade will be, but I'm sure my Lansky system will be able to handle it. For the money, I think the Kershaw Field Knife is money well spent... especially considering it's made in the USA. I wish the sheath was made from a washable material, but it's a small gripe and nothing that would prevent me from giving this knife a good review.
