Description
KS1660: 1660 Leek
Kershaw Knives

THERE ARE LOTS OF REASONS WHY THE LEEK IS SO POPULAR

The Kershaw Leek just may be the ideal EDC. With its 3-inch blade, the Leek is a good-sized knife, but not too big. The slim design makes it easy to carry and its razor-sharp blade of high-performance Sandvik 14C28N means it can take care of a full range of cutting tasks.

The blade is a modified drop-point, so it’s a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it piercing capability and the ability to do detailed work. For a partially serrated blade, choose the 1660ST Leek. Like other “Onion” knives, the Leek features the SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system.

Whether you’re left-handed or right-handed, just pull back on the blade protrusion or push outward on the thumbstud and the Leek’s blade is ready to go to work. In addition to its 14C28N blade, this Leek features a handle of pure stainless steel that gives it a clean, sleek look. For confident blade use, a super-secure frame lock keeps the blade locked during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks the blade closed when folded. The pocketclip can be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard.

Pros: Ease of Opening, Weight, Blade Sharpness, None
Cons: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material, Overall Quality
Light but flimsy
I purchased this knife a few weeks ago. It's very light weight and sharp. On the other hand though it will not stand up to really any abuse. It probably would work fine as a box cutter. The blade tip broke off on me with just moderate use, and after using it for something as simple as opening a few bottles, the assisted open started to fail. The locking mechanism also seemed a little stiff and wouldn't create what I would consider a nice positive lock. Overall I wouldn't recommend this knife even at the price. For another $20-$30 you can get a much much higher quality folder.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: None
My all-time favorite of any knife I have. I have the Kershaw shallot, the Kershaw amplitude 3.25, the Kershaw skyline, The Kershaw fatback , and Kershaw scallion. But I have zero complaints about any of them, each just as sharp as you would expect from Kershaw straight out of the box. It has a Great balance of weight to size ratio it really feels like a bigger knife then it is in your hand. It just feels exactly how you wanted to feel from a pocket knife and with the blastoff opening up the speed safe assist you can't go wrong for one handed operations!! This will be the knife I will always go to over any other and will be purchasing time and time again as the need arises. Truly recommend to anybody who is a fan of a pocket knife and appreciates good quality! Spot on Kershaw keep it going! Ken Onion is the best
