THE BLUR IS LOOKING GOOD IN BLACKWASH

Kershaw has added their awesome BlackWash finish to one of their most popular knives: the black Blur.

BlackWash gives the blade an already-broken-in look—like a favorite well-worn pair of jeans. The coating provides an extra measure of protection for the metal, and the BlackWash helps hide any additional scratches you may put on the knife during normal use.

Like all Blurs, this new BlackWash version is equipped with a big, slightly recurved blade that’s ideal for multitasking. The blade shape offers both excellent slicing and piercing capabilities. High-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel provides the Blur's blade with corrosion resistance and excellent edge-holding ability.

The handle is built of durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which is sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. It's lightweight, extremely durable, and accepts a dye well so Kershaw can create colored handles that are scratch resistant and extra tough. Trac-Tec grip-tape inserts provide an extra-secure grip.

For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. The pocketclip is reversible for a choice of tip-up or tip-down carry.
Features
  • SpeedSafe® - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Inset Liner Lock - A strip of stainless steel is riveted inside the knife’s handle—most commonly when the handle is a lightweight material. This enables us to create a slimmer, lighter knife, while still providing the strength and security of a locking liner.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.
  • Made In The USA - When you see this on one of the knives, it means it was made in their Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.

The Workhorse
First of all, I want to state that I bought the Tactical Blur with the Blackwash finish. This knife is simply awesome! It has a certain cool factor that most work knives don't have. The blackwash finish looks great, as well as hides any scratches or scuffs that accumulate as you use it. I actually lost the knife for about a month and my dad found it laying in the yard. I brought it in, cleaned the dirt, pieces of grass, and light rust (the rust wasn't anything severe, I was actually able to completely remove it with some 3-in-one, a cuetip, and some wrist power haha). The knife looks and flips almost like brand new! After at least a month in the elements and rain, it took about 15-30 minutes to restore it to great condition. I felt sick when I lost it, but in doing so, I got to experience the feeling of receiving it twice! Overall, I can't recommend this knife enough. It's like a beefier, grippier, nicer version of the Leek with a bigger blade. This is a fantastic working/edc knife and everybody should pick one up!

Excellent knife, would buy again
I own a few knives that I use day to day at work for various purposes, like opening boxes and whatnot. The blade I had prior to this was the Leatherman Freestyle CX which was great in and of itself, but eventually was too small for my needs. After browsing for a few hours, I decided on the backwash Kershaw Blur, and am definitely not disappointed. The blade is solid, sits evenly in the handle, has great action when opening, locks solid when opened, and closes easily enough. The blade also has an outstanding finish and doesn't scratch very easily, though if it does it looks like part of the finish. The only thing I wish it had was a pointer finger operated release, but besides that the blade is seriously the best knife I've purchased in this price range in a long time. 5/5

Great feel
I always thought kershaw knives were cheaply made. I was totally mistaken. What a great pocket knife. I love the weight, the feel, great workmanship. I will definitely buy more.
