Pros: Overall Quality, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Perfect for EDC
This is a minimalist design that fits the EDC category perfectly. The handle is nice and slim and the titanium is finished with a somewhat smooth finish. It's not slippery, but it will not grab most types of fabric so going into and coming out of your pocket is clean and easy. The titanium clip makes a nice grab on the edge of my jeans, wool dress pants, and tactical pants. The flipper works and it works great. I did use some Benchmade BlueLube on the pivot to get it a hair smoother, but I'm not sure if the awesome drag came from break-in or the lube. In any case, it will flip open without any stalling in the rotation. The lock-up is about 30% of the bar and it's rock solid with a nice click. There is no play in the blade. Kizer does use a small (ceramic?) contact point on the lock bar for the closed position detent and that is smooth and sufficient to prevent self-opening. The stonewash finish on the blade is uniform and well executed. I'd give the sharpness out of the box a 7 out of 10, so some operators may want to sharpen it a little but otherwise this thing is a perfect size, weight, and function for an EDC. And at this price, it's an easy buy decision.
