About LamsonSharp™
Lamson & Goodnow, maker of LamsonSharp™ cutlery, is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Lamson & Goodnow was established in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts in 1837, and rapidly became the premier cutler in the United States.

But as the American passion for home and hearth grew, so did Lamson & Goodnow.

In 1999, Lamson & Goodnow purchased TreeSpirit™, a company that handcrafts professional-quality hardwood cutting boards, bowls, kitchen utensils, and kitchen care products.

HotSpot™ silicone for the home was added to the Lamson & Goodnow family of brands in 2002. Unusual at the time, silicone is now regarded as a staple of the modern kitchen for its high heat resistance, superior flexibility, and nonstick properties.

Just want to point out that one should actually consider what one is ordering without making assumptions. A Chinese Vegetable Cleaver is NOT to be used the way one would use a Heavy Meat Cleaver. A Chinese Vegetable Cleaver is lighter than a meat cleaver and the blade is thinner.

Great Nakiri or Vegetable Cleaver
I saw the review above, and I just had to comment. This knife isn't meant for cutting bones. It clearly says in the description that it is a VEGETABLE cleaver. This is a Nakiri, an Asian knife used for chopping vegetables, not meat. If you try to use it to cut meat, you will have bad results, because it does not have the weight or thickness of a MEAT cleaver, as you noted. But, for its designed purpose of chopping vegetables, this knife works great.

Feels like a toy.
I actually bought this for my wife to use. We needed an authentic cleaver for some chopping of meat. First off, I feel this cleaver is way too light and could pose a danger when doing any type of "chopping". The blade is extremely sharp including not only the part where you are doing the slicing or chopping but at the front end which I found to be not needed and pose an additional hazard. This cleaver would be a better slicer than a chopper. I grew up with my mom using cleavers to prepare some food and her cleavers had weight on them. Was able to chop through bone (Like preparing a spare rib tip meal). I was not crazy about this cleaver and neither was my wife.
