Not too strong
I was using the entrenching tool to lift a root out of the ground and discovered that the threads on the head can't take the pressure so it loosens up. Bottom line, inexpensive and may come in handy

Small but sturdy
Basically, it's perfect for camping, say you need to make a quick trench around your tent when it's raining. It could certainly have its uses in a survival context. Sure the shovel it about the length of your forearm, but it's light, durable and has two essential features: a serrated edge to get at those roots, and it transforms into a pick for those harder patches of soil. I wouldn't recommend it for anything else though.
