1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

great value for relative litthe money
Hard to sharpen. However it is a fightingknife. Penetration performance excellent. This type of serated edge performs good and is easy to sharpen.

Good but needs work
This piece came dull as a butter knife which is BS for a knife in this price range. Overall quality is good but if held up to a light you can see a gap between the guard and the handle. Again this shouldn't happen in a knife in this range. Otherwise the knife feels solid and with a good sharpening should work well as a survival knife although I think it works best as a fighting knife. Buy it if you like the look and features but realise it needs better QC.

If you like fighters and a tough knives this one is for you! It has a great presence and balance in the hand. I strapped on my Pack and it goes on easy and is easy to deploy. The sheath is well made and has a great retention with or without the straps. It wasn't the sharpest out of the box but very easy to remedy. Overall I would recommend this knife a great addition to any collection or would be a great user on the field. This is my third Ontario and there will be more. The Top swedge is sharp and the D2 pommels a beast for smashing.
