With a little work, It's PERFECT!
Ok, so many of you might not have the capabilities that I have, BUT... This is a solid piece of heat treated 1095 steel. The handle SUCKS, and the Grind leaves much to be desired. But with a simple grind of the handle (belt grinder) and then changing the grind to a solid flat grind (using bare hands and dunking in water after ever pass to keep from destroying the heat treat) this machete is amazing. Chops like a dream! Before it chopped thick stuff fine, but anything under 1" it would bog down in, instead of slicing clean through like a normal machete would. With the full flat grind it chops thick stuff even better and slices through anything 2' and less with ease.I will have to admit the handle took a little more work than I wanted, and looking back I should have just cut the hole thing off and made a new one, but I was determined to do it at no additional cost. I had to grind through much of the plastic very slowly and even some of the tang in order to shape it correctly. But now it is a dream machete for an AMAZING price.
