An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Cons: Blade Sharpness
Great product
This is a great tool for the price . I'm a surveyor and use a machete almost daily. One bit of advice to all that purchase this tool, try not to heat the blade during sharping. You'll temper the steel and it'll become brittle. Try using a bastard file with a more course file . It'll allow a lot of material to be removed during the sharping part but won't heat the steel.

A true tool.
I have used this machete to clear shooting lanes and trails to tree stands. It does the job and seems ready for more. Easy to sharpen, it holds an edge well (I do not make it razor sharp so as to protect the edge). It is not an all-around bushcraft knife; it is a trail/area clearing machete, and a very good one at that.

Cons: Handle Material, Overall Quality
It's a work in progress.
Originally it was thought that this blade was 1095, it's actually 1055... The handle sucks and it needs to be re-ground to a full flat grind. Once I'm done with it, it will be a pretty good blade. For the price though it's hard to beat.
