1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Pros: Blade Material, Weight, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material
Brought this one to field for 10 days used it mostly to remove branches off sticks for jungles. Works excellent for that. Also wasted some time sharpening sticks to use at stakes and the little finger cutout helps a lot for that. Overall a perfect knife for the price. I've seen knives go for 4 times the price that won't do any better work. Good buy. Oh sheath sucks plan to buy a new one.

Pros: Finish, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Nice Addition
This blade is a nice addition to my collection of working knives. Sturdy enough to tolerate moderate/severe abuse. Blade can serve many purposes in a "survival" environment. Like the hi-vis handle. Moderately sharp blade but I'll hone it to a fine edge. The sheath was a bit of a let down. Would like the blade to have a tighter fit while sheathed. Too much movement/wobble for my liking. Overall, a good knife for the price.
