1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

18" Ontario Machete
Purchased as a replacement for an older machete of inferior quality. The Ontario 18" exceeded my expectations and at a reasonable price. No complaints but the 12" model would probably been sufficient. However the 18" will serve me well in the event of a "Zombie Apocalypse". All jokes aside, this is a great tool for use around the home, farm or self defense. Just don't take it to a gunfight. The nylon sheath is a must have accessory of superior quality and design. It too exceeded my expectations. I would recommend both these items to a friend.

Great Machete
Great Machete. I bought this machete for my brother to replace a cheap one that he broke. The blade is not the sharpest out of the box, but once it is sharpened it is unstoppable. If you are interested in a 18" machete, this is the one to buy. Also consider buying the sheath. The sheath will not hold the machete in it. The machete just sits loose in the sheath. Some people might not find this to their liking but for me it makes it very easy to remove or put away the machete.

It's Awesometastic
I've had one of these for about 6 years, used it for everything from cutting trees and grass to killing snakes and digging, and the only problem I've had is one loose handle rivet, which was easily popped back into place with a hammer and aul. The fit and finish on the handle is a little rough, but some electrical tape fixed the handle right up. The machete also comes with no edge, but the sharpener on the plastic sheath (sold separately) gets it razor sharp with 1-3 runs. I highly recommend that you buy the plastic sheath if tou get this machete.
