1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Love it
It's a combat knife....a sexy combat knife, and it takes sexy to some next level shizzle. First things first, it's big. 8" blade....looks bigger than it sounds. The handle is big too. Good for fairly large hands like mine. Not that sharp out of the box, but no worries...I'll make wicked sharp. The sheathe is decent. Nothing extravagant not junky. Just decent. It can be used for survival if needed but it's not meant to be a survival knife. It's not designed to be a survival knife, so it's not fair if people rate it as such. Since it's big, it may be tough to find a spot to carry it (other than in my hip of course). But I'm more into the tactical carry. We'll see how it works out. I love it though. I sleep with it. Talk to it. Use it in the kitchen. Wash it in the shower....I've never loved a knife like this before. Get one and you'll be a changed man as well.

FANTASTIC Combat Knife!
Very sharp, great grip handle, feels well balanced in my hand and I love the size of this thing. Excellent matte black finish. The sheath is nice too.

I don't expect a $40+shipping knife to be all that great. Upon examining the knife I noticed that the bevel was extremely uneven, almost a chisel grind. Which really isn't a big deal for me, because it wouldn't of been my first knife that I had to basically put a completely new bevel on it. Luckily though I have very steady hands and can easily keep the correct angle when using a dremel w/ sanding wheel. The handle is good although the palm swell is a bit to big, even for my meat paws, but again fixable and a $40+shipping knife. The sheath is okay, never been a fan of leather/cordura sheath. Was very hard to snap close fist time, so I just left it in the sheath and loosened up in no time at all. After all these considered I find the knife to be adequate for my uses, which is just to fondle, kill some bottles, some camp chores, and occasionally take out into the woods
