OP001792: N09 DIY Folding Knife, Gray
The Opinel folders are classic, no nonsense pocket knives that just work. This N09 DIY Do-it-Yourself model is more functional, better looking and has more cutting power than any of its predecessors. This folder features a robust 2.2 mm thick 12C27 Sandvik blade with a sharp serrated area for cutting fibrous material and fiberglass-reinforced polyamide handle with two built in bits. Includes flat screwdriver for 4 mm screws and Phillips-head for 3.5 to 5 mm screws and a magnetized bit holder. Two bits conveniently store in the side of the handle. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and its locking 3-1/4" blade is large enough for most cutting tasks.

  • This knife features the Virobloc Safety ring. The Virobloc safety ring was invented and implemented in 1955. This simple yet effective locking system greatly improved the original knife. The ability to help prevent the blade from opening when closed was added to the Virobloc in 2000.

Pros: Handle Material, None
Cons: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness
Blade not very sharp
The knife blade was not sharp. and the rear portion has an odd ridge just in front of the wire striper. That part of the blade was very dull. The front part could be sharpened ok but the rear 1/3 will require much attention before it is to my sharpness satisfaction.
