Pros: Ease of Opening, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Handle Material, None
Cons: Lock Type, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
This knife has the deep curve that I want but it also has some shortcomings. The body of the blade is rather thin, which makes it a little light weight for some of the heaver cuts I make. I use a knife like this during pollination season in date palms. The knife id perfect for the cut to thin the flowers, but a little light to trip the stray date thorn that has grown in the last couple of months. Also the lock is a twist of a second collar ring that wedges into the butt of the blade. It does not snap into locked position, but uses the wedge compression. It is not as secure as other types of blade locks, nor as sturdy. It does come with a nice edge and it does take a good edge with a hone. Works well for thinning grape of tomatoes, would give it a 4.5 for that, but too light weight for date palms.
