Pros: Blade Material, None
Cons: Overall Quality
Unacceptable Quality
I've been very intrigued about D2 steel in a pocket knife and Queen was recommended by several users at my woodworking forum. The small stockman seemed to fit the bill for me. Sadly, this particular knife must have been a Monday production. Sharp points at the heels of the blades. Rivet on one side proud of the scale. Liners and springs on the bottom not ground flush. Bolsters had light scratches on them. The jigging on one of the scales was so poorly done, the scale was sharp from the very deep crevices left behind. Even the Queen label on the box had fuzzy lettering and looked like a copy of a copy of a copy. The knife was wrapped in tissue thin kraft paper and was most certainly bouncing around in the box. I knew D2 was difficult to sharpen, and this was no exception. It took me 45 minutes to get it to the point where it would slice paper, and another 45 minutes to file away the sharp points with a diamond file and grind the bottom flat. For whatever reason, I couldn't remove a burr on the drop point blade no matter what I used. I finally ended up stropping on a power stropper aggressively. One expects higher quality for a premium knife. It shouldn't take 1.5 hours to prep a knife for daily use. I cannot recommend Queen unless you can see and handle one in person. Queen Knife was more than expected
We saw it to be a quality product, beautiful to look at, and very nice handling. We used this as a birthday gift for my dad. He was very pleased with it, and he likes his knives to be nice. He actually put it in his pocket immediately.
