DPx Gear
In 2012 DPx Gear released a limited run of 500 of the HEST/F 2.0 Triple Black Special Edition which went on to win that year's Blade Show's Most Innovative Imported Design award. The limited run came with a unique skull tool constructed with an embedded, handmade Pyser SAS compass. Due to the overwhelming demand for that knife, DPx Gear has now added the HEST/F Triple Black to its production line of knives but this time around, the knife requires no special tool for adjustment. Not only does this allow for easier field adjustment, it reduces the cost of the knife so this unique hard use folder is accessible to even more customers.

The HEST/F Triple Black is an extremely low-profile knife designed for law enforcement and military use where a superior cutting edge and low visual signature are priorities. The 3.25" German Niolox corrosion resistant blade is matte black TiCN PVD coated to increase hardness and concealability. One side of the frame is scaled in grip textured black American G10 polymer. The other slab is 6Al4V titanium alloy that is black TiCN PVD coated.

Like the other DPx HEST/F models, the Triple Black comes with the patented RotoBlock to lock the folder open. Three sizes of wire strippers serve as unique and slip-proof jimping. A removable glass breaker screws into the butt of the knife, and the hex driver in the handle may be used with the knife open or closed.

Awesome knife for a lefty
The DPx Gear HEST is a wonderful knife. The blade is stout, and razor sharp. The handle is comfortable and grippy. It opens fairly easily, the wave/hook feature works about a third of the time. Takes a little practice. The lock is secure and a little difficult to disengage. I suspect it will wear in, and be easier to operate as it gets used. Overall, I love it. Very pleased that there are companies making knives for us lefties. Highly recommend DPx Gear and the HEST

Excellent quality and highly functional!
I am right handed and purchased this knife for carry on the left side/support side. Knife is extremely solid design with excellent overall construction. Materials used all feel refined and well made in the hand. The blade length is perfect for general EDC tasks and the serrations are extremely aggressive and seem like they will hold an edge longer than other manufacturer's. The "wave" feature is a blatant rip-off of Emerson but works just as well and opens beer bottles way better. Tip of the blade is very fine for detail work. Handle curvature locks into the hand. Works well with even my XXL hands. Glass breaker looks like it will do the job but have not used it yet. Only criticism would be that the lock device on the lock bar slides into place too easily when blade is in open/lock position. Wish it was removable but will work around it. +1 Great knife. Highly recommend even though RYP seems like kind of a jerk.

DPX Hest F Lefty
Knife Center Rocks, super fast delivery, excellent sales people. 2 day ship, crazy! Just opened the box on this hest. As anticipated the fit and finish is perfect. I already have the Heat in D2 steel and this is on par. I expect the niolox to be a great performer. I have had strider, hinderer and reeve and the dpx is every bit as good in fit, finish and performance and kills them in price. The functional design is the best of any out there. I now have 2 fixed and 2 folder dpx and will add more over time. KC if you are reading this talk dpx into making a cross between the razorback and milspec in 7.5"- 8" with .250" sleipner I'm ready to buy one.
