Schrade 26" Collapsible Baton
I decided to start my daily power walks again and to make a point of taking a hiking trip every two weeks or so. Most of the time I strike out on my own without much consideration for my safety. But have to admit that at 65 my mind is much younger than my body and that maybe an equalizer or sorts would not be a bad idea to fend off rabid animals and unwanted human advances. I like big things in small packages and thought a collapsible baton might do the trick and maybe some pepper spray. My son suggested one of the high quality batons like he has but I didn't want to spend that much. After a lot of research I decided to buy two giving my daughter first choice. I ordered the Schrade and another brand the same length at $20 more. After receiving each baton I compared them and could see any difference in quality, which each seemed more that adequate for its purpose. Even compared it to my son's and except for bragging rights as a high quality brand, I am perfectly satisfied with mine. I like the way the grip on the handle is non slip and simply a lot of bang for the buck. Can't beat the price and service at Knife Center either, very satisfied and highly recommended.
