Description
SOG14MINI: Pentagon Mini
SOG

The compact version of the original SOG Pentagon, the Mini Pentagon is a serious back-up knife that easily conceals in boot or vest.

Extremely lightweight and comfortable to maneuver, the Mini Pentagon also offers the instant choice between a straight or serrated edge for multiple cutting tasks.

Twin thumb notches on the blade enable accurate blade orientation and downward control.

Like its big brother, the Mini Pentagon has aggressively checkered, flared Kraton handles for confident gripping as well as sensational feel and balance.

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Superb knife, great sheath, terrible clip.
I was fortunate to come across a SOG Mini Pentagon "Made in Seki Japan" with a custom engraving that says "El Duderino" on the blade. (the ones sold now are made in Taiwan, China) The knife is superb in design, straight edge one side, serrated the other side. SHARPER THAN A RAZOR! After seeing a few videos of this knife, I believe the Seki Japan made one/s come to finer, sharper point, when mine arrived I gently touched the tip to my finger... and it punctured my skin like a sewing needle! Superb handle, great jimping on both sides, very nice sheath, unfortunately the 'clip' is flimsy and I don't trust it to "securely" stay attached to anything. I love my Seki Japan model.

Nice Little Knife
I picked one up recently and was well-impressed by the size and feel of this knife. It's shaving sharp right out of the box. The sheathe appears good, until you try to actually carry the knife. The clip cannot properly clip, and the entire unit will ride up and over your belt. Should you need to conceal this knife, it may be difficult as it's in danger of falling off your pants. I can't imagine it would clip to a boot very well, either. It's a shame, too. The knife itself has a good feel and is very well made. Sheath... not so much.

Okay Blade - Poor Handle & Sheath
I bought this to deploy OCONUS. I thought the blade was okay - made in Taiwan - US or German Steel would have been better...I understand the price point thing though. The handle material is not terrible, but the design is a bit lacking. The guard (Quillion) could be better for a combat knife. The sheath is seriously bad. It barely holds itself to a belt and does not adhere to the boot at all. Good luck deploying this from the boot with one hand. I bought two of these and have to return them both. For the price, it is what expected. If you want something to really perform, you'll need to spend more $$. Good last ditch. Sorry SOG.
