SOG Aura SU-01
It's a great departure knife. Just at a glance this blade stands out. The round rubber poly krayton handle. Gives you great grip and allows a number of hold positions. The deep jimping gives great traction for no slip fine work. A few down points. A great idea of having a sharpen stick in the handle. However, I feel a ferrel rod would have served the user better. The exagerated choil is a double duty idea. working as hilt and allowing you to choke up doing fine work. I caution against prolong use when doing fine work. Unless you are wearing gloves. One could quickly wear a blister into your thumb. I understand to cut cost to bring this great knife under the $50.00 line. Something had to be sacrafised. In this case it's the sheath. Using velcro to hold the blade in place. I'd rather seen a snap there. An ample belt loop does allow mounting for wide belts. If you fall for this blade, like I have. you might want to hunt for a sheath with multi carry options and a strong retention system. I recomend this knife for regular EDC field service. I feel it to be a good all arounder.
