Description
SOGS10B: S10B Tech Bowie
SOG

Based on the classic SOG Bowie that founded our company, but morphed into a top-notch work knife with the use of technology, modern materials, and a little class thrown in for good measure.

For starters all the metal parts are satin finished stainless steel and coated in SOG's proprietary Hardcased TiAlN deep black coating. It looks incredible! Offset against this, the tactile Kraton rubber handle nods to tradition with the use of interspaced white washers. This has never been accomplished before and provides an unmistakable SOG look. The thick (.240") AUS 8 blade is topped off with a faceted tip that is a SOG signature and completes the total package.

Cryogenic Heat Treatment

SOG's unique cryogenic heat treatment process increases the toughness and wear resistance of our blades. Taking the knife slowly down in temperature to less than -300°F and then back to room temperature. This stress relieves the material on an atomic level and increases overall strength as well as edge retention. Knife edges stay sharp longer with significantly less micro-fracturing and edge-chipping. Its this dedication to making your knife SOG sharp that sets us apart from the rest.

Awesome, awesome bowie.
WOW! What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Not only is this knife a treat aesthetically it also feels just as remarkable and completely natural in your hand. Despite its menacing yet delicate good looks, and being a medium sized fixed blade at just over 6 inches, it more than backs itself up in the field as a good work horse. Thanks knife center for the great service and the best value around. Loving the SOG.

Scary
As several other people here have said, it's to pretty to use. This is the sexy female assassin of combat knives. It feels good in your hand, is well built, well balanced and the finish holds up well. It really has that "solid" feel that only comes from quality. The blade is a full 1/4 inch thick but the hollow grind lets it slice well, and man is it pointy. Function wise, I wish it came in a more matte/tactical finish, and maybe the tip was a little thicker. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it as a service knife, is mine sat in my foot locker for most of my deployment because I didn't want to screw it up, carried my Benchmade 155 SBK instead. (not nearly as pretty, but equally nasty) Anyways, well worth the money as a fighting knife as long as your not going to use it as a pry bar, or drop it on your foot!
