Description
SOGTS01: TS01 Tsunami
SOG

With the reintroduction of this popular SOG knife, we have taken what made the Tsunami so great and improved it. Some of the changes are subtle - like refining the overall balance. Some are more obvious, like the grooves in our crossguards and the option of a tough TiNi coating. Finally, the beautiful Tsunami blade shape is mated perfectly with an extremely tactile diamond checkered Kraton handle. Explore this next generation of a great classic!

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Good
Prospective buyers may be interested to know that the blade of this knife is NOT 6 1/2 in as advertised, but more like 6 3/16 in. It's style is that of a fighter rather than that of a survival knife. The scabbard is large and seems a bit clumsy, but is quite adequate. Worth buying.

Between fighter
Sog Tsunami is the middle size fixed blade american tanto design between Cold Steel Kobun (i own one, fighter design) and Cold Steel Recon (i own one too, fighter- all purpose design). Very ergonomic, elegant design incl. thumb ramp on back blade, finger guard, and nice grip (maybe too small for big hands). The blade design is well known for penetration power (maybe needed in modern war CQB with ballistic body armored enemies). Very sharp and polished AUS 8 steel blade. Not too heavy but sturdy, fast fighter. I only dislike the bulky nylon sheat (better would be the Kobun sheet design). Over all a highly recommended non nonsense fighting knife. If the Recon tanto is the soldier, then the Tsunami is the gentleman...

OMG is this thing sharp!
I know that SOG knifes come razor sharp... but this one is like a lazer. It's shiny, pointy and shaves without any drag. In a self-defense situation, should you draw one of these against an assailant, he would be better to run as fast as he can because this knife was built to do excessive damage. It feels great to hold, and as a collector's piece is a beauty to behold. The sheath is the standard SOG nylon sheath. It works for this knife, but nothing more than that. The knife itself is so affordable, you can't not own one.
