Description
SOGWD50: WD-50 Woodline Folding Knife
SOG

That feeling of leaving civilization behind as you move out of the valley and into the woodline is the inspiration for this series of fixed blades and folders. These big upswept blades meet the challenges of extreme camping, hunting and survival chores. The Blade is anchored in a handle comprised of stainless steel bolsters and beautiful hard wood. The handle configuration insures a solid grip regardless of what nature throws at you. The thumb grooves on the blade allow the application of downward pressure as well as give greater dexterity. SOG Woodline... a confidence builder when out in the country where man is the minority.

Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
8Cr13MoV Steel
8Cr13MoV Steel
An affordable medium carbon stainless steel with a good balance of edge holding and corrosion resistance properties.
Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Weight, Sheath, Handle Feel, Blade Material
Cons: None
Solid knife
Usage is largely utility, carving, shaving wood, etc. It is very solid, well balanced, The blade, handle, and locking mechanism are very well made. And all at a good price. Like most cutting tools, from knives to axes, the factory puts a short wedge-type edge on the blade, that after dulling needs to be sharpened further back from the edge by taking off the shoulders. This knife is no exception. But that is not a problem, and not being hollow-ground makes that much easier.
