Description
SW671: SW671 Extraction and Evasion Tomahawk
Smith & Wesson

This "extraction tool" is a formidable item. First you will notice the weight. It's heavy at 2 lbs. 11 oz.! The item is made from 3/8" stock and most of it is that thick. The removable handle grips have a slight texture allowing for a secure grip. This is a great item to have at your side when you need it. The head cover is a thick canvas with snaps that allow easy removal. There is a belt loop, but the weight of the tomahawk may not make belt carry practical.

Built like a rock
This tomahawk is very heavy and seems almost indestructible. Comes surprisingly sharp - cuts paper.

I Looked a Loooong Time for This!
This this is the first commercially made tomahawk that I have found to be as good as a custom. I use this primarily as a weapon. In that regard it is superior to virtually every other commercial hawk I have seen and/or used, as noted: 1) It is appropriately heavy. Its weight allows it to store an enormous amount of potential energy which makes it devastating during a strike. Cheaper/lighter hawks "bounce off" because of lack of inertia and poor blade geometry. 2) The head lacks the silly lightening holes that cause the blade to stick in most substances. it is much easier and faster to pull out and prepare a second strike....assuming there is anything left for a second strike'....'without holes'. 3) The beard is one of the most perfect blade shapes I have had the pleasure of using. It is cut and angled in such a way as to be useful for snagging and disarming blades, bludgeons, other hawks as well as being deadly effective for burying itself in a shoulder, preventing your assailant from going anywhere but down. 4) The Kraton handle is reasonably comfortable as it is but would likely benefit with an extra wrapping like with pcord or skateboard tape. This hawk is not a "me too" weapon to show off with, it is not made to appear as a pretty, state of the art cool weapon. In fact it is very plain and nondescript. That is because it really is meant to do one thing....that is terminate a threat and nothing else. If you want a nice, fancy looking hawk that you can throw at boards, trees, etc. and have your buddies wishing they had one too. This probably isn't it. It's not pretty, it's not high tech and it's a bit too heavy for throwing...simply put, its not a weekend warrior. But it is a devastating man/large animal killer. The sheath is very close to useless. You should get a custom leather "spring clamp" retention holster that can clip to a cross shoulder support. It's not comfy but its secure and fast. If you are my size it also makes it concealable. When you absolutely, positively have to kill with one strike, this is the hawk you have been looking for and, at its price, it's a GREAT deal!
