Pros: Handle Material, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type
Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Economical, Handy, Tweakable
I use this little knife daily for everything from opening snack wrappers, at work cutting tape, string, and general handy use around the house.I ordered two so that I could rotate and always have a freshly touched up edge. One of these arrived in mint condition and worked excellent. The other, however, didn't come in the plastic sleeve and the action was not as smooth and I noticed metal gritty particles and was impossible to open with one hand, also the edge on this one was not sharp and had an obvious burr on one side of the edge; I think this may have been the demo model and the last one in stock at the time. No problem though, with a bit of work with my trusty set of mini diamond files, a bit of toothpaste, and Scotchbrite pads it is now working as smoothly and opens as easily as the "good" one. Before reassembling I coated all inner friction surfaces with hard candle wax.I like the size, the slimness the reasonable price, the ease of disassembly/maintenance, and the fact that the handle is made of tough aluminum instead of synthetic materials. Did I mention it's a lockback? I'm not a big fan of linerlocks nor framelocks, having had them come open in my pocket before. This knife offers me everything I like about traditional lockbacks with the portability of a linerlock. The best part is the pocket clip, it is really well engineered and allows the knife to ride down deep in the pocket and it felt secure and had no worries about it coming unclipped and getting lost. I rated this a 4 only for the fact that one knife arrived perfect while the other required tweaking on my part to make it usable.
