SWEDF1EK: F1 Pilot Survival Knife

With this knife a new world standard is being set! Important factors such as technical design, ergonomy and economy are brought together within the model F1, and represent the foremost concept available today. The knife meets and surpasses by far established international standards for strength, personal security and value for money.

Mod. F1 is the official survival knife for pilots within the Swedish Air Force since 1995.

Mod. F1 represents an entirely new philosophy with respect to knives for survival use. At the same time it combines the experience of generations of knife manufacturing with modern technology. The handy size, the well thought-out design, the incredibly tough laminated steel are only a few of many details making this knife something you can rely on.

Mod. F1 is a handy knife and is tremendously versatile. The safe, pleasant grip together with a very hard yet tough laminated steel, makes the knife very useful for all kind of daily work but also demanding tasks. You can choose from two kinds of sheaths - an all-covering pouch type, which safely houses the entire knife or an extremely tough double-safety, one hand operated zytel sheath.

Zytel sheath
The injection molded zytel sheath offers a neat safe and strong combination of qualities which should be very attractive to any user.

8 years and still going strong
I've had this knife for over 8 years and i haven't had any problem with it, if i remember correctly it came super sharp and i was so pleased with my purchase. 1 thing that feels weird to me is that Fällkniven is from sweden but it is cheaper here at knifecenter than it is home in sweden. Basically a very good knife:)

Best Knife Made
I never thought anything could get me off being such a Spydeco fan, but this is the one knife that can. I have no better knife in my box, from the handle to the point. perfect dimensions for form and function and the best steel on the market, and as a bonus it is a great thickness as well. Comes sharp enough to do heart surgery. I could go on and on, but just buy that dang knife, it is easily the best 150 dollar knife you will ever think to buy. Cons, the only real con is even though the sheath is cool and holds the knife well, it can rattle. it is not form fitted like the bill moran drop point, but that is literally the only thing about this knife that is less then when comparing the two. Very good sheath, but can be improved to make it great. If you were in a knife fight with a full size Ka bar, you would probably loose, but this knife is everything it is hyped to be. If I could only have one knife, no doubt this would be it!!!

Great For Deer And Elk
I have used this fantastic knife on both deer and elk hunts. I hunt in Montana in a mountain region. The size of the knife is more than enough for dressing out a deer but is an ideal size for elk. My hunts have been backpack hunts and elk are heavy. I first gut the elk and then skin it and then cut the meat off the bone to reduce weight for packing the meat out on foot. The steel is tough and high quality and holds an edge but requires a good sharpening tool like ceramic or diamond although there are probably high quality stones that would do the job. However, the edge holding is exceptional. The synthetic handle is very comfortable and practical and is good for extremely cold weather. I have a Ruana (from Montana) that has a handle made of aluminum and elk horn. If it is below zero your skin tends to stick to the aluminum and when wet or bloody the horn material is slippery. Not so with the F1.The sheath is very secure and made of relatively thick leather. This is a serious knife.
