Pros: Blade Material, Weight, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard
Ok - but needs some improvement
Out of the package the push dagger was quite dirty (reddish oil or grease) and required intense cleaning.Contrary to United Cutlery’s promotions the blade was NOT razor sharp but completely (!) dull. Sharpening turned out to be complicating. I am still on it.The grip ergonomics of the dagger need some improvement but are still acceptable. The grip depth in blade direction should be larger, even for small to medium size hands. The little grooves in the grip back are nonsense and do not add to functionality. These grooves are cut quite irregularly, maybe manually. I will add two micarta or wooden handle plates in order to enhance grip ergonomics. The nylon sheath was better than I expected but the strap which secures the dagger in the sheath should not run over the back of the grip but rather asymmetrically over the upper end of the blade in order to facilitate opening the printhead of the strip with your forefinger such that you can pull the dagger more quickly out of the sheath. Moreover, the strip is too soft. Ok, this is something one can easily change. The push dagger itself is very light, compact and easy to conceal. I like it! Therefore I will make some effort and implement the the above mentioned improvements, maybe even adding a custom made leather sheath.Value for money: ok.
