Pros: Head Material, Weight, Balance
Cons: Handle Material, None
Good, But Not Great
For the price, you can't get a better Vietnam-style tomahawk. The handle is wood as mentioned, and in case you need a replacement, the Cold Steel Vietnam Tomahawk handle won't fit without a lot of sanding. The spike came very sharp, but the blade came dull. The description says the head is made of 440 series stainless steel, but mine sparked a lot when put on the belt sander; I think it's carbon steel. Also, be advised that if you plan on cord-wrapping the handle, you'll have to cut away a little of the hole in the bottom of the sheath, or else the handle will be too thick and won't go in.I haven't chopped with it, but throwing loosened the head considerably. I re-seated it with a hammer, but I think I'll wait until I have a better handle before using this again.
