UCGH5007: Hibben IV Machete
United Cutlery | Gil Hibben

This is the knife everyone has been talking about all year! Designed by Gil Hibben for Sylvester Stallone to be used in the hit motion picture and the Blade Magazine cover story. The knife offers one solid piece of hand forged 1090 carbon steel with a black fabric wrapped grip. Includes a custom black blade sheath and a certificate of authenticity. 16 1/2" overall, 11 1/4" main blade. Made in China.
Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.

Pros: Finish, Sheath/Scabbard, Weight, Materials, None
Cons: Handle Material, Blade Material
Big Heavy knife but dulls and chips easily.
I bought this knife believing it would a heavy beast of a machete. It definitely was, it looks mean but is pretty impractical compared to some of the other products out there. Here is why; it is slow and hard to swing (and I am a pretty strong person) because of the weight, the handle was awful and creates blisters quickly, so I had to make my own wooden one over top. The first time I really tested it, it failed. I had a huge chip in the blade and the tip of it was bent out of shape and very dull I will need a grinder to repair it now. This should not happen to a knife this thick. To me, it is too heavy for its own good.

A Head Crusher
I bought this knife about two years ago when I was living in New Orleans. After going through Katrina and seeing Rambo forge this baby I got on the internet and bought one. You can't go wrong for the steel alone! The sheath is real leather. You can see flimsy machetes for sale that cost more than this knife. The handle wrap is cosmetic but come on, any knife lover would rectify this to suit their needs If it bugs you, go to ACE and buy a role of electrical tape. I worked on the edge of this with a AR stone and then ceramic crock sticks while watching Rambo marathons. I use cheap Colombian machetes daily for work and this dude is sitting on my mantle waiting for Armageddon! Too bad Big Brother outlawed 4 Loko because these two made a perfect pair!
