Cheap Import...Shame on Hibben for allowing this one
I bought this thinking it would be a better quality blade than the other extremely expensive imported Hibben blades. I don't understand why a talented blade designer like Gil Hibben isn't more insistent on quality control for his products. For the price, this knife is no better than dozens of other 20 - $30 cheap Bowie Knives made in Asia. One slice into a kindling stick - a VERY typical task for a Bowie knife, and the blade not only scuffed, but chipped away about 1/32 of an inch. NOT worth the money. Buy a Bear and Sons or even a Case Bowie - they don't look as slick, but they're equally or even less expensive and the quality is far superior to this one. I'd love to own a high quality Hibben production knife, but it looks like his standards are extremely low when it comes to producing his designs.
