Pros: Construction, Balance, Weight, Head Material
I ordered this throwing axe here at Knifecenter, btw very good service here.Have used it to throw at trees, and it sticks well, the 'needle' point sticks especially well. The construction of the axe, one piece forged AUS-6 stainless steel seems to be able to take a beating. My dad and myself had fun throwing it for the first time yesterday, and there was one unlucky throw that just barely hit a stone, and that made a tiny chip on the edge. But I think that would have happened to every other throwing axe also. Continued to throw it today, still sharp and sticks well, but maybe a little less sharp than it was right out of the box yesterday. I'm no expert, but it seems that it's well balanced and that the shape makes it efficient at sticking to its target. Anyway, the leather that is wrapped around the handle is the reason why I only give this Aircobra a 4 out of 5. After just a couple of missed throws it started to rip open. But even if everything will be the same steel color soon when the leather has teared away, I am still happy with the purchase, and it will still be fully functional. Looks like the grip will still be good, even if held right on the steel, or maybe I'll try with some paracord if that holds up, we'll see. I still recommend friends to buy it!
