Cons: Finish, None
A fine hiking companion...
At 4.5 inches, this SAK is a little bulky for everyday carry in one's pocket, yet is a fine addition to one's backpack while hiking. The one handed blade is a nice departure from the famous pen knife blades found on SAKs. I'd like to see a smaller version of the one handed blade (and the liner lock) make its way onto one of the 3.5 inch models, more suitable for EDC. It must be noted that the blade is pretty easy to open with one thumb, but not nearly as easy as knives with a thumb stud. The blade also has a rounded tip. I am not entirely sure why, beyond the fact that the ends of the folded knife are more open than most SAK designs. Early indications suggest the black finish on the blade will tarnish (If anyone has any ideas, please let me know). The rather unique liner lock design makes this the rare tool that favors lefties (This is particularly noteworthy for 1 out of every 9 of us). The overall quality is up to Victorinox standards and the scaled down assortment of tools will still provide you with everything you are likely to need, unless you really need to open a bottle of wine or back up your hard drive. I would reccomend this knife. I would STRONGLY recommend it to anyone who is left handed. However, I might pass on the black blade.
