Description
ZT0560: ZT0560 Hinderer & ZT Collaboration
Zero Tolerance Knives

Based on Rick’s crave-worthy XM-18, the ZT 0560 is one completely amazing knife. First, the blade. It’s pure ELMAX® powdered steel for the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. It rolls out of the handle on the KVT ball-bearing system so deployment is rapid and it’s ready when you need it. The handle is 3-D machined G-10 on the front, and equally 3-D machined titanium on the back. A framelock with lockbar stabilizer ensures a rocksolid lockup every time. To ensure this big bear of a knife carries at a comfortable weight, ZT has skeletonized the liner and machined pockets in the titanium handle and framelock. And to top it all off, the 0560 is equipped with ZT’s deep-carry pocket clip.

Awesome knife
Outdoorsman. Kids live it especially after adding Kryptoglow scale. Lock stuck at first but buffed it with 800 grain sandpaper and works without a hitch. Truly zero tolerance, no give, locks solid and light for size. EDC replaced my Benchmade pinnacle 750 I bought from you guys 17 years ago (about)

My first ZT is a winner
I've had this blade for about a month now and I like it even more now than I did when I got it. Its build is flawless, the opening action is a joy and the ergos make the knife a pleasure to handle. When I first got it, I found that the Ti framelock would stick and was a little hard to actuate, but it has smoothed out nicely with use and is not an issue now. Lockup is rock-solid. I love all of my knives, for various reasons, but if the SHTF and I could only take one blade, this'd be the one. It inspires confidence. Short of a high quality fixed blade knife, I can't imagine a better more functional knife to stake your life on. Despite its size, it carries very well and I’m not easy to please in that area. I know it's there but it doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, it's reassuring. I can sit on the sofa for what seems like hours just flipping the knife open over and over. It's that addictive and that much fun. The blade just glides open on its KVT pivot, and lock into position with a satisfying “SNIK.” You can flick your wrist if you want, but it’s not necessary. BTW, I sent the knife to Ben of the Edge Pro Sharpening Company, for his free sharpening demo, and he sent it back to me in a condition I can only describe as phenomenal. I’ve never seen an edge like it. The edge is polished to a mirror shine and is hair-splitting sharp. It just looks amazing. The sharpening potential for this steel is off the hook. Take Ben up on his offer and send yours in. Buy this knife, you will not regret it.

my impressions
i am 41 yrs old, i got my first knife when i was 5. i mentions this so that you will understand how long i have been using knives. i have experience and now this statement should seem reasonable to you. i have owned hundreds of knives in my lifetime so when i get a new one it is hard to thrill me. and when i got this knife i wasnt. but thats on purpose. i like to get to know a knife before i allow myself to get excited. i immediately was impressed with the fit and finish of this knife, as well as the beauty of its design. but lots of knives have those qualities. i have now been carrying this knife for about a month and i am pleased to say i am excited about it. this is my edc and it has performed flawlessly. the first week was spent getting comfortable with this, my first ever frame lock. it required altering my muscle memory ever so slightly for closing a folder. the kvt system works well but not to the impressive levels that other reviewers suggest. it is an excellent pivot system, but not, in my opinion, gods gift to makind. lockup is solid, perfect. i noticed none of the problems other reviewers have mentioned. edge retention is excellent, i have not had to sharpen the knife the whole time i have carried it. the quality of the craftmanship involved in the scales it breathtaking. the fishscale shaped scallops in the scales as well as the 3d machining are perfectly executed. overall i think this is the finest knife i have ever owned, and i have owned knives by all the major manufacturers. if i had any complaints they would be 2, first the spine of the blade it rounded, i like to strike my ferro-rod with the back of my knife. the spine of the 560 is just too rounded. i understand that this is a result of the blade finish and dont hold it against the manufacturer, its just not my preferance. the other complaint is the lanyard hole placement. with deep fit pocket clips i prefer to use lanyards and the placement allows the lanyard to fall in the pocket making access difficult. i overcame this by attaching a lanyard to the bottom standoff utilizing a king cobra braid. there is enough clearance between the edge of the knife and the standoff. it works perfectly. i no longer have to fish around inside my pocket to get ahold of the lanyard. it stands proud of the knife in jeans pockets or slash pockets on fatigues or khakis. overall i am thrilled with this knife.
