ZT0560BW: Model 0560BW - Hinderer Design
Zero Tolerance Knives
Based on Rick's crave-worthy XM-18, the Zero Tolerance 0560 is one completely amazing knife. First, the blade. It's pure ELMAX® powdered steel for the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. High wear resistance in a steel usually means low corrosion resistance. Not with ELMAX. With this advanced steel, you get both properties—which makes it an excellent blade steel. The ELMAX blade rolls out of the handle on the KVT ball-bearing system. With KVT, a series of ball bearings surround the pivot point so blade deployment is rapid, incredibly smooth, and your blade is ready when you need it.

The handle is 3-D machined G-10 on the front, and lightweight, strong 3-D machined titanium on the back. The titanium frame lock, with lockbar stabilizer, ensures a rock-solid lockup every time. To ensure this big bear of a knife carries at a comfortable weight, ZT has skeletonized the liner and machined pockets in the titanium handle and frame lock, too. And to top it all off, the 0560 is equipped with ZT's new deep-carry pocketclip and Quad-mount system for tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed carry. The 0560 features a black front handle scale.

Blackwash is the New Black

Zero Tolerance introduces blackwash. A blackwashed knife is like a battled-tested tool or a favorite pair of well-worn jeans. Blackwashing gives a ZT that already-broken-in look that's just plain cool. Although a few custom knifemakers have been using this process, Zero Tolerance is one of the first major manufacturers to use it on production knives. Knife components are Tungsten DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coated, then tumbled to produce the distinctive ZT blackwash finish. Like any coating, it will wear eventually, but with blackwashing, who cares? Additional wear just adds to the blackwashed look.

Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
Titanium Handles
Titanium Handles
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
Extremely fine grained powered metal that strikes the balance between edge holding and corrosion resistance perfectly. Much more likely to get a rolled edge than have a chip develop.

You get your money's worth
It is easy to browse right through the ZT knives on this site, since a couple pictures here and there do not convey the outstanding, muscular high quality each ZT possesses. I have personally owned and used four different models including the 0560, and every time I pick one of them up I feel the rock-solid build that leads to rock-solid performance in both tough and delicate tasks. Finding heavy-duty knives that look similar from afar yet cost a fraction of the price, such as those made by Schrade, is simple enough to do. Schrade knives are a bargain for their price too, but they simply lack the top-notch materials, design elements, fit & finish of even the cheapest ZT model. Buying a ZT like the one above is buying a lifetime's worth of safety upon stability upon effectiveness, far outclassing other knives that are simply heavy-duty. If you have never owned or used a ZT knife, you owe it to yourself to buy one (even one on the less expensive side) and experience for yourself what a few words, specs, and pictures can never deliver on their own. You won't be disappointed.

Second times a charm
So round two, got the knife in. It showed up hair popping sharp, dead center in the handle, and smooth as butter. Knife Center did right and verified this one was all good before shipping.

G10 ruined this knife
I really wanted to love this knife. Very solid construction, suuuper smooth KVT, nice steel, nice black stonewash finish, and deep carry pocket clip. With all the hype surrounding this knife I'm sad to say the sharp jimping from the G10 ruined this knife for me. How sad right? Yes I can swap out the G10 but comon guys, you rounded out the titanium handle and semi rounded out the steel liner but skipped the G10?? If you guys don't mind running your index finger into the line of sharp jimping, you will LOVE this knife. Otherwise you will definitely need an aftermarket scale. I'm sorry guys but the 0560BW is a miss for me. The 0095BW on the other hand is phenomenal.
