Description
ZT0561: ZT0561 Hinderer & ZT Collaboration
Zero Tolerance Knives

Based on Rick’s crave-worthy XM-18, the ZT 0561 is one completely amazing knife. First, the blade. It’s pure ELMAX® powdered steel for the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. It rolls out of the handle on the KVT ball-bearing system so deployment is rapid and it’s ready when you need it. The handle is 3-D machined G-10 on the front, and equally 3-D machined titanium on the back. A framelock with lockbar stabilizer ensures a rocksolid lockup every time. To ensure this big bear of a knife carries at a comfortable weight, ZT has skeletonized the liner and machined pockets in the titanium handle and framelock. And to top it all off, the 0561 is equipped with ZT’s deep-carry pocket clip.

ELMAX
Extremely fine grained powered metal that strikes the balance between edge holding and corrosion resistance perfectly. Much more likely to get a rolled edge than have a chip develop.

Pros: Overall Quality, Ease of Opening, Blade Material, Handle Feel, Handle Material, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Weight, Lock Ease of Use
Solid investment!
Heavy, solid, extremely well made knife! Had the good fortune to handle the same model knife that belonged to a friend, so I pretty much knew what to expect. However, this knife handles much better than I initially thought. A bit heavy, but only because of it's design and high quality components. Edge not optimal out of the box, but I have no doubt it will sharpen nicely.

Favorite Knife
Of all my knives (over 100), this is the favorite folder. For those having a problem with one handed closing, just practice it for a few days. I think the lockup will 'work in' and become a little easier from repeated use. It is a very easy knife to close with one hand safely. In fact, some people keep it close just to enjoy the shear pleasure of opening and closing this butter-smooth, bearing-pivot knife with one hand. The only cons: It is a larger, and thus slightly heavier knife than many are used to. So, those with smaller hands may want to try it out first. It is a serious, no-nonsense knife with meticulous machining and tight specs. In order to protect it from scratches for a while, some may choose to sheath carry rather than pocket carry. Be sure to purchase from a ZT dealer to avoid knockoffs and seconds.
