ZT9: Model ZT-9
Zero Tolerance Knives

Zero Tolerance Knives describes this item as follows:

The strongest production knife on the face of the earth.
And that's vital. Because if it comes down to bayonet time, there's no room for compromise. The ZT-9 doesn't. A sturdy S30V stainless steel blade--a full 1/4 inch thick--is paired with Ranger Green G-10 scales. The ZT-9 mounts on the M-16/M-4/AR-15 series of rifles. When mounted, a full six inches of blade extends beyond the muzzle--more than today's standard-issue bayonets. Comes complete with hard Kydex sheath for use as a field knife. A Strider-ZT collaboration.

Tough as a tank!
This is the most strong knife I held in my hands and at the same time it is very comfortable. It is as good built as Stryder fixed blades and costs less. The handguard is very strong and comfortable better then on Stryders. The choil on blade is comfortable for index finger. The handle is simple but has fine checking and 2 holes and doesn't slip. Because handle has simple shape the knife can be held with any grip. About shealth: it is well made, better then Cold Steel SecureEx (I didn't see brilliant shealth on any production knife). Shelth is not cheap, made of true kydex and fitted to the blade. Knife does not fall off even tip up when I shake it. I think they refused from previos green plastic one because previous had steel plate to retain the knife and it scratched blade. Also the new kydex shealth weights less. Has all possible carry options that I know. Some strange things about weight. It is heavy - 1 lb. 3.4 oz. - twice heavier than other 7 in. blades I have. Don't understand why, maybe S30V is heavier then other steels. But this knife is very fast in the hand. Maybe it is something about balance. My rating is strong 5. For a production knide it s exceptional. This is great all around big knife and it is bayonet at the same time.

The Toughest Bayonet Ever!
I have had one for several months now, used it heavily as a utility knife, and , Surprise! It did not shatter as some guy claimed-even when hammering on a heavy hatchet blade that was made from a stainless steel ball peen hammer. It is of the same quality as my many custom knives, and well worth the price. As a former Marine and Soldier, I know a good blade!

Best Bayonet for M16/AR15 Series Weapons I've Seen
This is a beautiful knife and much stronger and better balanced than the usual military-issue type bayonets. The military bayonets are all very serviceable knives if you take the trouble to put a good edge on them, but this is a real step above anything else I've ever seen, and I've seen just about everything you can get for an M16. Aside from the fact that this one is considerably more expensive than the usual M16 bayonet, the only significant negative that I can point to is awkward sheath - they claim that it's "molle-compatible", but it really isn't in the normal sense. You cannot attach it to your webbing like you can with a normal military bayonet sheath because the web is the wrong width and runs the wrong way. However, you can improvise by simply using the sheath from an ordinary military-style bayonet, to solve this problem, but for this price they should really provide a decent sheath. Also, in my opinion, the material used for the grip, while apparently quite strong, should offer better grip - like the Ontario 3S (used/issued by USMC), for example which has somewhat rubbery grips to which one can quickly gain a very firm grip. The longitudinal grooves in the grips are not useful. These give the appearance that the grips are composed of stacked slabs of the grey (it is not green as stated in the product description) plastic material, even though they are simply solid and just make the knife a bit harder to grasp. Overall however, the grips only detract slightly from what is a beautifully made and especially well-balanced knife that is also the strongest bayonet I have ever seen. It is even better than the Italian Extrema Ratio bayonet, which is high praise indeed (a detail to note however: this bayonet lacks provision for cutting wire, so beware if this feature is important to you).
