Description
RST7761: H-Series H6 Blue Sheep Folder, Black
RealSteel Knives

The RealSteel H6 Blue Sheep has been designed as a full-size outdoor folder and therefore fits for almost any outdoor activity. This good-looking Liang Gang design is named after the Blue Sheep which live in the Himalayas. The H6 is characterized by special cutting performance and reliability. Another distinctive feature is the particularly easy maintenance. The reasons for this are the slotted-head screws and the very accurately machined components. The hollow ground drop point blade has a length of 3.74", made from the Swedish steel Sanvik 14C28N. The H6 handle and backspacer are CNC machined from G10 and textured for grip. The clip can be attached tip-up or tip-down and the thumb studs are removable if necessary. With the H6 model, RealSteel has achieved a further leap forward. The high-quality of the folder becomes obvious when you look at the details which all knife enthusiasts appreciate. The H6, made by RealSteel, is in a class of its own.

Affordable and Fully Functional
I know some people have issues with purchasing from a China based company, but some of them know what they are doing and save some big money with similar fit and finish for American Products(also just about every company outsources overseas...even the precious Spyderco). I don't try to break my knives when I use them, but in no way baby them. If it's supposed to cut something or sometimes hack into a harder material...then I go for it. I've cut through small tree limbs while doing yard work(.25" to around .5" diameter) without nicking the blade. The Sandvik steel is a really good budget blade that I prefer over AUS8 or similar budget steels. It cuts easily through any box or cardboard while keeping its edge for a noticeably long time. The blade shape is one of my favorites. This modified drop point has a great belly to it and plenty left at the tip to avoid breaking. The handle is very ergonomic and fits the hand in any type of hold. The deployment is fast and smooth when you figure out the correct angle on deployment. No wrist flick is needed to open. Closing is just as easy and smooth. The liner lock sticks well, but without creating an issue when disengaging. Knife is a solid medium/large knife. The weight also is pretty good for a the size of knife. Also I had a Real Steel H6 Plus have the pocket clip break. It was my fault, but I emailed Real Steel and had a quick response. It took around a week, but they sent two new clips for free. Being sent from China, one week was impressively quick.

Impressed
I bought the Real Steel H6 Plus and Gerfalcon before getting this one. I had good experiences with the previous knives from this manufacturer but wasn't so sure about a liner lock. The previous knives were both solid framelocks. I have to say I am again impressed with the build quality and materials used. I also broke a pocket clip on the H6 Plus, but it was my own fault...but all I had to do was email the company and about a week later I got two pocket clips for free. Even though they are a China based company, the customer service was impeccable. Done with my personal experience with the company now and on to this knife. It's got a substantial weight to it, but not overly heavy. I'd describe it more solid feeling than heavy. Worn with a pair of jeans and the weight isn't really a factor at all. The G10 handles are plenty grippy enough without being so coarse to tear up your clothing. It molds into the hand and feels good in any grip configuration. The liners are substantial enough for a folding knife. Batoning with it probably wouldn't work out too well, but at the same time isn't a task for a folding knife. It's plenty strong for any normal use of a folding knife. The Sandvik steel blade is shaving sharp, thick enough stock to take care of heavy cutting, but thin enough to slice anything cleanly. The blade profile has become one of my favorite with a modified drop point style. The blade just looks smooth, clean, but also aggressive without having a mall ninja wannabe tacticool look. The last things to touch on are the smooth/fast opening, solid lock up, and easy closing. Took a little while to get used to the necessary opening angle, but it's lightening fast after figured out. Knife opens smooth with no gritty feeling. The liner lock does its job. No issues with blade movement in any direction. I prefer framelock or lockback knives, but was nothing but satisfied with the lockup and lockup mechanism. Easy/Simple/Fast opening and closing. No fit or issues with the quality materials at a very competitive price makes this blade a solid purchase.
